I have clinical interests that I am actively encouraged to build upon. I fell in love with the location for its easy access to the many lakes and fells of the Lake District, which I enjoy exploring in my spare time. In addition, people in West Cumbria are very friendly, and I genuinely think our client base is lovely.” Iina MRCVS“Since starting my career at The Vet Whitehaven, I have felt nothing but supported and cared for. I truly enjoy coming to work every day. Everyone is so lovely, kind, and fun to work with. The case load is varied and no two days are the same. I always feel supported whether it’s during a surgery or working up a more complex medical case. I am genuinely so grateful to work in such a welcoming environment and am so glad that I started my career here.” Katie MRCVS“We work as a whole team, from reception to vets, with a true level of respect for each and every member you don't often find in this industry. The management team is open, honest and approachable and constantly looking for ways to improve. The weather is hotting up! Here are some Top Tips on how to keep your pet safe and happy during this hot weather spell.1) Provide shade and water – make sure that your pet always has access to a shaded area and that plenty of fresh water is available for them throughout the day.2) Plan your dog walks – walk your dog either early on in the morning or later in the evening, when temperatures are cooler. This will reduce their risk of heatstroke. Be particularly careful if your dog is elderly, overweight or suffers from breathing difficulties.3) Do the 5 second test – tarmac and pavement surfaces can get very hot in the sun and potentially burn your dog’s paws. Check the pavement with your hand before letting your dog walk on it – hold your hand down for five seconds, if it’s too hot for you, then it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.4) Don’t let them get burnt – keep your pet out of direct sunlight where you can. Use pet-safe sun cream on exposed parts of your pets skin, such as the tips of their ears and nose.5) Day Trips planned? - be mindful if your pet is going along with you to make sure there is plenty water available & shaded areas. Try to avoid dog walks in the full heat of the mid day sun.If you require any further advice on how to keep your dog safe in warm weather, please don’t hesitate to contact us!#thevetwhitehaven #dogstrustinformationshared #hotweather #sunshine #wecare #petcare #dogs #allpets #petadvice ...
